Marco Reus extends contract with Borussia Dortmund until 2019
Midfielder Marco Reus has signed a contract extension that will keep him with Borussia Dortmund until June 2019, the club announced on Tuesday.
The deal eliminates Reus' opt-out clause, which had linked him to several clubs including Bayern Munich and Real Madrid. Reus has played for Dortmund since leaving Borussia Monchengladbach in 2012 and called his choice to extend his contract with the club "a decision for life," ESPN's Stephan Uersfeld reports.
"When I signed for Dortmund, I said that I want to achieve great things with the club. I have the feeling that it's not over yet, especially given our difficult situation right now.
"I stand by my words. You win and you lose together. It's also a decision for life. That's why it took me so long to decide."

Dortmund has lost stars Robert Lewandowski and Mario Gotze to Bayern over the past few years, but Reus will stay put.
Reus also plays for the German national team, but an ankle injury prevented him from playing during the 2014 World Cup.
In 10 Bundesliga games this season, Reus has four goals and two assists. Dortmund has struggled to a 5-4-11 record this season, good for only 16th place in the Bundesliga.
