STOKE, England (AP) — Crystal Palace scored two late first-half goals to beat Stoke 2-1 Saturday in the Premier League.

Mame Biram Diouf put the hosts ahead in the 14th with a shot to the bottom right corner at the Britannia Stadium.

Glenn Murray equalized for Palace in the 41st with a controversial penalty kick after the referee adjudged Stoke goalkeeper Asmir Begovic to have fouled Yannick Bolasie.

Wilfried Zaha punished sleepy Stoke defending to score the winning goal in first-half injury time.

A combination of the hosts' poor finishing and some fine saves from Julian Speroni ensured Palace hung on for the victory in the second half.

Palace got its fourth win in five league away matches under new manager Alan Pardew. The Eagles moved up a place to 11th with 36 points, six points behind Stoke. Both teams have played 30 games.
