Club Tijuana's Juan Arango banned two games for biting opponent

Captain for Venezuela's national team and midfielder for Club Tijuana was suspended for biting an opponent.

Juan Arango, captain for Venezuela's national team and midfielder for Club Tijuana in the Mexican league, was suspended two matches for biting an opponent according to the Associated Press.

Arango, 34, bit Monterrey midfielder Jesus Zavala on the shoulder during Tijuana's 4-3 loss on Saturday.

The officials did not see the veteran midfielder bite Zavala, but television cameras captured the incident.

Zavala took to Instagram on Sunday to show the bruise he sustained from Arango's bite.

Before playing for Club Tijuana, Arango played for Mallorca in Spain and Borussia Mönchengladbach in Germany. He is also a longtime member of Venezuela's national team, having represented his country in five Copa America tournaments.
