Real Madrid fell behind in the first leg of its Champions League semifinal, thanks to a striker the club just recently discarded.

Alvaro Morata, the 22-year-old who came up through the Real Madrid youth system before transferring to Juventus over the summer, applied the finishing touch on the opening goal as the Italian side grabbed a 1-0 advantage at the Juventus Stadium.

Carlos Tevez provided the initial threat, firing a shot that Madrid goalkeeper Iker Casillas could only parry away. Unfortunately, he parried it directly into the path of an onrushing (and onside) Morata.

In the tradition of other strikers to score against their former clubs, Morata's celebrations were rather muted. Perhaps also because some of those he scored against could soon be his teammates once again. Madrid reportedly has the option to buy Morata back in the summers of 2016 or '17.

The goal is Morata's third in the Champions League and 12th in all competitions for Juventus this season.
