Alex Morgan will not play in the next two games for the U.S. women's national team while dealing with a bone bruise in her left knee, according to ESPN's Jeff Carlisle.

Morgan will miss the team's games against Ireland on Sunday in San Jose and against Mexico on May 17 in Carson, California "for precautionary reasons." Carlisle reports that she will attend Sunday's match.

The injury has kept Morgan has out of the last two matches for Portland Thorns FC. She has not played since April 11 against the Boston Breakers.

The 2015 FIFA World Cup begins on June 8, but a USSF spokesman said that Morgan is "expected to be 100 percent for World Cup." The spokesman also said the injury was due to "wear and tear" on the knee.

Carlisle also reports that Tobin Heath is unlikely to play in the squad's next two matches while she is rehabbing a hamstring injury.
