Clint Dempsey wins Golden Boot, Brad Guzan wins Golden Glove at Gold Cup

The individual awards cap a disappointing Gold Cup for the United States.

U.S. men's national team veterans Clint Dempsey and Brad Guzan won the Golden Boot and Golden Glove awards for the 2015 CONCACAF Gold Cup.

The Golden Boot is awarded to the player who scores the most goals in the tournament. Dempsey scored seven for the U.S., which failed to place at this year's tournament after falling to Panama in Saturday's third-place game on penalties.

The Golden Glove award is given to the tournament's top goalkeeper. Guzan emerged as the United States' top goalkeeper in the absence of Tim Howard, who is on sabbatical from international play.

The individual awards cap a disappointing tournament for the United States, which was widely considered the favorite to win a second straight Gold Cup title. The U.S. lost to Jamaica in the semifinal 2-1 before losing in the third-place game to Panama.

Mexico's Gold Cup title means that the U.S. will meet Mexico in October in a one-game playoff to determine which team will represent CONCACAF at the 2017 Confederations Cup.
