Monday's transfer deadline in Italy, Spain, Germany and France shut with controversy, with David de Gea's long-anticipated move from Manchester United to Real Madrid falling through due to a paperwork fiasco. Tuesday's deadline passed with considerably less drama, but plenty of action.

Chelsea didn't up spending big for Paul Pogba or John Stones, with both players remaining put. Manchester United broke the bank for 19-year-old forward Anthony Martial, but will have to mend fences with de Gea. Arsenal didn't surprise with a late big-money offer, opting to go forward with its roster as currently constituted, at least until the winter window. League-leading Manchester City had already handled its business by adding the likes of Kevin De Bruyne and Raheem Sterling.

A handful of other moves did get done, though. Here are the big moves that crossed the finish line prior to the summer deadline:

. DeAndre Yedlin to Sunderland (Loan)

Former Club: Tottenham

The U.S. men's national team fullback will hope to earn first-team playing time at the Stadium of Light, as he'll be there for the remainder of the season after being loaned by Tottenham. With a logjam at his position at White Hart Lane, the 22-year-old Yedlin was looking to make a move to avoid sitting on the bench.

. Joleon Lescott to Aston Villa

Former Club: Aston Villa

The 33-year-old veteran English center back heads to Villa Park on a two-year deal, and he'll join a corps trying to protect U.S. goalkeeper Brad Guzan. He previously played in front of another American–while at Everton he played with Tim Howard.

. Michael Hector to Chelsea

Former Club: Reading

Hector had a strong Gold Cup until being abused in the final against Mexico, but Chelsea has reportedly signed the center back on a £4 million deal and will loan him back to Reading for the remainder of the season.

. Victor Moses to West Ham (Loan)

Former Club: Chelsea

The Chelsea loan machine keeps churning. On the day Moses signed a new four-year deal with Chelsea, the Blues shipped him across town to West Ham for the remainder of the season. Moses has spent time on loan with Stoke and Liverpool since joining Chelsea from Wigan Athletic in 2012.

. Miguel Layun to Porto (Loan)

Former Club: Watford

Make that three Mexicans at Porto (Porxico?). Layun joins Jesus Corona and Hector Herrera at the Portuguese power on a season-long loan from EPL side Watford. Porto has an option to buy the wingback, who scored in Watford's season opener, for €6 million.

. Jesus Corona to Porto

Former Club: FC Twente

"Tecatito" makes another leap in his burgeoning career, leaving the Eredivisie for Portugal's top flight and a Champions League club in Porto. FC Twente confirmed that Corona has signed a five-year deal. Corona, 22, won the Bright Future award at this summer's CONCACAF Gold Cup as the tournament's best young player.

. Adnan Januzaj to Borussia Dortmund (loan)

Former Club: Manchester United

The 20-year-old Januzaj heads to the Bundesliga for the remainder of the season, joining Dortmund after scoring one goal thus far (a game-winner in the season opener) for the Red Devils.

. Anthony Martial to Manchester United

Former Club: Monaco

Who? That's what a lot of fans are asking after United appears to be shelling out £36 million for the unproven 19-year-old Frenchman. Martial scored 12 goals in all competitions for Monaco last season and won't have much of a grace period under the Old Trafford spotlight.

. Hernanes to Juventus

Former Club: Inter Milan

Hernanes trades one Serie A power for another, moving to Juventus on a three-year deal for a fee of €11 million. The central midfielder helps provide cover should Juventus deal Pogba, and he also continues the turnover in a part of the field that lost Arturo Vidal and Andrea Pirlo this summer.

. Dante to Wolfsburg

Former Club: Bayern Munich

Wolfsburg has wasted little time in spending its De Bruyne windfall, prying Brazilian center back Dante from Bundesliga foe Bayern, and signing him through 2018. Dante had requested to be transferred from Bayern with an eye on playing more regularly.

. Javier Hernandez To Bayer Leverkusen

Former Club: Manchester United

For a second straight summer, Chicharito is leaving Old Trafford, but this time, it's permanent. Chicharito, who had been linked to a potential move to MLS, is heading to Leverkusen, where he'll get the chance to play in the Champions League. It's a reported three-year deal for a fee of £8.75 million.

. Julian Draxler to Wolfsburg

Former Club: Schalke

Draxler moves to Wolfsburg, where he'll look to help fill the void left behind by Manchester City-bound De Bruyne. The Germany international leaves Schalke on an undisclosed fee that the club claims is a team record, and he joins Wolfsburg on a five-year deal. Draxler, still just 21, has been a highly touted playmaker for some time, linked to major clubs around the world for the last few years.

. Ivan Perisic to Inter Milan

Former Club: Wolfsburg

Perisic heads to Serie A on a reported €20 million deal and joining De Bruyne in exiting from Wolfsburg's attack. The 26-year-old Perisic, who scored for Croatia in the 2014 World Cup, had been with Wolfsburg since 2013.

. Fabio Borini to Sunderland

Former Club: Liverpool

Borini never panned out at Liverpool after joining the Reds from Italy. He scored 10 goals during the 2013-14 season while on loan with Sunderland, where he heads on a permanent four-year deal after moving on a reported £10 million fee.
