For the first 79 minutes without Lionel Messi, Barcelona looked rather plain, unable to crack Bayer Leverkusen's defense and trailing at home in the Champions League.
After the hosts scrapped their way to find an equalizer in the 80th minute through Sergi Roberto, Luis Suarez restored some of the magic that was missing at Camp Nou.
Two minutes after Barcelona tied it up, the Uruguayan striker curled a beautiful one-timed effort by Leverkusen goalkeeper Bernd Leno to deliver a 2-1 win. On the heels of a 1-1 draw with Roma in the club's group opener, the result relieved some potential pressure, especially with Tuesday's game coming at home.
Suarez did so by wrapping his right leg around a layoff from Munir El-Haddadi with perfect technique. Watch:
