Report: Ex-USMNT coach Bob Bradley has verbal agreement with Le Havre
Bob Bradley, the former coach of the U.S. men’s national team, has a verbal agreement to become manager of French club Le Havre, Morten Stokstad of VG sporten reports.
Bradley, 57, spent several years as a manager in MLS before taking over the national team in 2006, a post he held until 2011. He coached Egypt’s men’s national team for two years before returning to the club level at Norway’s Stabaek.
Bradley guided Stabaek to a Europa League place. This season, the club could finish as high as second place despite having one of the lowest payrolls in the league.
A French outlet reported last month that Bradley was in talks to take over at Le Havre after his contract with Stabaek runs out next week.
Le Havre plays in Ligue 2, France’s second tier. The club fired Thierry Goudet as manager in late September after a disappointing stretch in which they earned just 10 points in nine matches.
The team was in 15th place in the 20-team league when Goudet was let go but has three wins and a draw since, and has shot up to fourth place. The top two teams earn promotion to Ligue 1.
U.S. men's national team regular Alejandro Bedoya tweeted on Thursday that Le Havre would be a good fit for Bradley.
