Pep Guardiola to leave Bayern Munich at season's end, Ancelotti to take over
Bayern Munich announced on Sunday that manager Pep Guardiola will leave the club when his contract expires at the end of the season, and to be replaced by Carlo Ancelotti.
"We are very thankful to Pep Guardiola for everything he has given our club since 2013," Bayern chairman Karl-Heinz Rummenigge said in a statement. "I am sure that Pep and our team will work even harder to achieve great sporting goals now that it's certain that Pep will leave Bayern."
Ancelotti most recently managed Real Madrid, and has won three Champions League titles in a distinguished managerial career. He has previously managed A.C. Milan, Chelsea, and Paris Saint-Germain.
"When I knew of the club's interest I didn't want to consider any other offer. I honestly wish Bayern Munich and my friend Pep Guardiola the best for the current season," Ancelotti said.
In midst of his third season with Bayern, Guardiola has amassed a 105–11–19 record across all competitions.
The former Barcelona skipper has been tied to a Premier League move, with Chelsea having recently fired Jose Mourinho and Arsenal, Manchester United and Manchester City all rumored landing spots.

Bayern currently sits atop the Bundesliga table with 46 points, following Saturday’s 1–0 win over Hannover. The club has also advanced to the Champions League’s Round of 16.
