Watch: Trabzonspor player sent off after showing ref red card

Trabzonspor right back Salih Dursun was given a red card near the end of his team’s match against Galatasary on Sunday after he knocked the card out of a referees hand and showed it to him.

Trabzonspor right back Salih Dursun was given a red card near the end of his team’s match against Galatasary on Sunday after he knocked the card out of a referees hand and showed it to him.

The strange incident occurred after the referee awarded Galatasary a penalty kick in the 87th minute. 

Trabzonspor defender Luis Pedro Cavanda immediately ran into the referee, drawing a red card. As the referee lowered his hand, Dursun snatched the card away and held it in front of the referee while motioning for him to leave the field. 

Galatasary scored on the following penalty kick, which proved to be the difference in the 2–1 win. 

Trabzonspor finished the match with just seven players on the field after being shown four red cards.
