U.S. Soccer teases unveiling of its new crest

U.S. Soccer appears to be making a change to its long-standing crest.

U.S. Soccer is reportedly going to be unveiling its new crest and jersey ahead of next month's men's World Cup qualifying matches against Guatemala, and the federation's social media accounts and website are not doing anything to dispute that. 

U.S. Soccer removed its logo avatar from its Twitter and Instagram accounts for men's and women's national teams while also posting a cryptic video of the U.S. crest sign at the federation's headquarters in Chicago being removed from the building gates. The avatars on all of the respective accounts are blank, white spaces. The current crest is nowhere to be found on the federation's official website.

A "leaked" version of the new jersey, in honor of the Copa America Centenario, has been making the internet rounds, and it's a big departure from the current version. The mostly black uniform includes the new crest, which features red and white stripes underneath a blue "USA."

Whether that is the actual shirt and crest going forward, only time will tell, but change certainly appears to be in the offing.
