Report: Galaxy sign F Gyasi Zardes to extension through 2018
The Los Angeles Galaxy have signed forward Gyasi Zardes to a contract extension that will keep him around through the 2018 season, according to the Los Angeles Times.
While the yearly salary numbers have not been released, the team reportedly used targeted allocation money to complete the deal. A team can only use TAM funds on a player who makes more than $457,500, the league’s max salary.
Zardes, 24, made $150,000 in 2015.
Zardes has scored 26 goals in 88 appearances with the Galaxy since being signed as a homegrown player in 2012. He has also made 21 appearances with the national team, scoring three goals.
