Former Sporting KC trial player Chad Ochocinco thinks he would make the team if he tried out again, five years later.

Ochocinco, 38 and more notably a former receiver for the NFL’s Cincinnati Bengals, appeared on ESPN on Wednesday and decided to make his point, after trying out for the team and playing in a reserve game during the 2011 lockout. He wasn’t offered a contract.

“Sporting KC is dope,” Ochocinco said. “You know what, now, if I was able to get that trial with Sporting KC now, I would make the team. My touch and my skill has come back. I hadn’t played football in the past five years, and I’ve been playing back on the pitch the past five years.”

He sort of had a chance to actually make the team last time, and 6'2" with Pro-Bowl quality speed and quickness, Ochocinco (neé Johnson) at least was a fun idea to throw around.

We always wonder what would happen if America’s best athletes from other sports put on soccer cleats.

In this case, we will never know.
