Javier "Chicharito" Hernandez keeps climbing Mexico's all-time scoring list, and his latest put El Tri up over Canada in a World Cup qualifier in a raucous environment.

Chicharito powerfully headed home a cross from Miguel Layun to open the scoring in a 3-0 win at BC Place in Vancouver, where more than 50,000 attended the Mexico-Canada clash. The two sides entered the night in the top two positions of CONCACAF's Group A, with the top two teams in each group at the end of the semifinal round advancing to the hexagonal.

Chicharito, who is enjoying a resurgent season at Bayer Leverkusen, now has 43 career goals for Mexico, three behind Jared Borgetti's record of 46.

Chicharito also played Hirving Lozano through for Mexico's second, which was Lozano's first international goal on the senior level:

Jesus Corona tallied Mexico's third goal, as El Tri improved to 3-0-0 in the qualifying round with eight goals scored and none conceded.

Mexico and Canada will meet again on Tuesday at Estadio Azteca.
