Tim Howard pens farewell letter to Everton fans

The outgoing veteran goalkeeper expressed his gratitude and emotion before leaving for MLS.

Tim Howard suited up for his final appearance for Everton on Sunday, starting at Goodison Park in his last match before departing for MLS's Colorado Rapids. 

Howard spent 10 years as a Toffee, and his start on Sunday marked his 414th appearance with the club. After Sunday's 3-0 victory, Howard secured 133 clean sheets in goal for Everton, third most in club history. He even scored a goal from his own box on a memorable day against Bolton in 2012. He has endured through a tough 2015-16 season, losing his starting role to Joel Robles, but the club gave him the opportunity to start his final two home games before bidding farewell.

Howard is eyeing a starting place for the U.S. this summer at Copa America Centenario, and he'll join a Colorado Rapids team that sits atop MLS's Western Conference standings with a 7-2-3 start through 12 games.
