Stade de France security to improve before Euro 2016

France’s sports minister has pledged that security at Stade de France will improve before the 2016 UEFA European Championship, which is set to start in less than three weeks, according to EuroSport.
Despite police searching all 80,000 spectators that entered the stadium for last week’s match between Paris Saint-Germain and Marseille, smoke bombs and plastic piping still found their way into the stadium. Police also saw a large group of spectators that were able to get past a new gate that was two-meters high, despite the heightened new security measures.
The Stade de France was targeted in November's terrorist attacks that included a bombing outside of the stadium, where a match was being played between Paris and Germany. The attacks killed 130 people.

France and Romania will play the first game of the tournament on June 10 at the Stade de France. It will also host the final on July 10.
It is estimated that about 2.5 million spectators will be in attendance for the 51 soccer matches that feature 24 teams at 10 stadiums across France.
