Watch: Frank Lampard, David Villa, Andrea Pirlo all score for NYCFC

All three Designated Players scored in the same match for the first time.

New York City FC got its money's worth on Saturday. 

With MLS play resuming after the break for Copa America, all three of the club's Designated Players scored in a match for the first time, with Frank Lampard, David Villa and Andrea Pirlo all finding the back of the net vs. the Philadelphia Union at Yankee Stadium. 

Lampard, making his first start of the season, opened the scoring in the eighth minute, finishing from close range after Tommy McNamara's deflected shot fell to him in front of goal. Lampard had three goals and an assist in 10 games last season and was making just his fourth appearance of 2016 after dealing with injuries throughout the start of the campaign:

Villa, who nearly chipped the goalkeeper from just about the midfield line, then made it 2-0 in the 21st minute. He was set up by 2016 No. 1 overall draft pick Jack Harrison, who sped through the center of the field before assisting Villa with a back-heel pass:

Pirlo, who was omitted from Italy's Euro 2016 roster, completed the feat in the 50th minute, converting a free kick from 20 yards to make it 3-0. It was his first goal in MLS after joining the league last summer.

Philadelphia pulled a goal back through Roland Alberg from the penalty spot soon after, and a Frederic Brillant own goal in the 88th minute made it a 3-2 game.
