Bayern Munich lights Allianz Arena red, white and blue for July 4

FC Bayern Munich is lighting its home stadium, Allianz Arena, in red, white and blue to resemble the American flag in honor of Independence Day.

The outside of the arena will be illuminated from 8:00—11:00 p.m. local Munich time, which is 5:00 p.m. ET. The club also announced that it had reached a record 100 fan clubs in the United States.

“We are very happy to be able to celebrate Independence Day in such a special manner with our fans,” executive board member Joerg Wacker said in a statement.

Bayern Munich will travel to the United States for the International Champions Cup later in July, taking on AC Milan in Chicago, Inter Milan in Charlotte and Real Madrid in East Rutherford, N.J.
