FIFA president Gianni Infantino to be questioned by ethics committee

FIFA president Gianni Infantino will be interviewed by the governing body's ethics investigators to address allegations that he breached the governing body's code of ethics, according to the BBC's Richard Conway.
The questioning is only part of a preliminary investigation, but if a formal investigation takes place, he may be suspended from his post for 90 days.
“The FIFA president has stated publicly he fully respects the independence and work of the ethics committee and that he would provide, if required, whatever information necessary to facilitate any potential review by the committee,” a FIFA spokesman told the BBC. “The president has made clear that he has acted appropriately and in accordance with FIFA's code of ethics.”

The allegations claim that Infantino used private jets to visit the 2018 and 2022 World Cup hosts Russia and Qatar as well as on a trip to Rome to see the Pope. He returned to Switzerland after the quick stop in Vatican City.
