Insider Notes: Dortmund wants new Pulisic deal; Brooks injury update

Amid continued interest in Christian Pulisic from Liverpool, Borussia Dortmund wants to sign the U.S. rising star to a new deal.

Christian Pulisic has started his last three games for Borussia Dortmund, and after receiving an offer from Liverpool for Pulisic at the end of the transfer window, Dortmund would like to sign Pulisic to a new contract. But as of now, sources say Pulisic is in “wait-and-see mode” to get a sense of how much playing time he’ll be getting this season before he starts negotiating a new contract.

I’m also told that Liverpool could make another run at Pulisic either in January or next summer, as Liverpool manager Jürgen Klopp really likes the 18-year-old American. Pulisic’s current Dortmund contract runs through June 2019, but he’s already playing at a level beyond his salary in that contract. Dortmund offered him a new five-year deal last spring, but Pulisic turned it down.
