Watch: Dortmund draws Real Madrid in Champions League; Pulisic sets up equalizer

Borussia Dortmund and Real Madrid played to a 2-2 Champions League thriller on Tuesday, with 18-year-old American Christian Pulisic helping set up Andre Schurrle for the late equalizer that resulted in a point for both powerhouse sides.
Dortmund had scored 20 goals in its previous four matches across all competitions, but faced a stout defense and lethal countering side in Real, which was led by its Cristiano Ronaldo-Gareth Bale-Karim Benzema front line.
That line accounted for the opening goal in the 17th minute. After resisting Dortmund's furious pressure, Real Madrid embarked on a trademark counter, with Bale setting up Ronaldo for a close-range finish with a beautiful back-heel assist. It came minutes after Ronaldo got away with what appeared to be a sure handball while leaping to defend a Dortmund free kick.
The goal is Ronaldo's 95th career tally in the Champions League, an all-time record. He celebrated it with manager Zinedine Zidane, which is notable after he expressed public disgust for being subbed out of Real's match vs. Las Palmas over the weekend.

Dortmund got its equalizer just before halftime, with a bit of good fortune. Keylor Navas parried a free kick off defender Raphael Varane, sending the ball swirling back toward the Real Madrid goal. Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang got the last touch at the goal mouth to level the score at 1-1.

Ronaldo thought he had his second almost immediately after Dortmund scored, but his header was nullified by a correct offside call.
Varane had his fortune even out in the 68th minute, scoring a go-ahead goal. Ronaldo crossed to the far post after a short corner, and Benzema put it off the post with a sliding chance. The ball landed out front of the goal, where Varane touched it home to give Real Madrid a 2-1 lead.

Pulisic came off the bench in the 73rd minute for Dortmund, and he made an impact for Thomas Tuchel's side by setting up the equalizer. Moments after having a low blast denied by Navas, Pulisic dribbled by Danilo down the right channel and cross for Aubameyang. It fell for Schurrle, whose left-footed blast tucked under the roof and brought Dortmund even at 2-2.
