Watch: Moreno's heroic header gives Mexico Confed Cup draw vs. Portugal

Highlights from Mexico vs. Portugal in the Confederations Cup.

Portugal thought it had stolen a win off Mexico in the Group A favorites' Confederations Cup opener, but El Tri managed to walk out with a point in heroic fashion.

Hector Moreno, fresh off signing a deal to move from PSV to Roma, headed in Jonathan Dos Santos's stoppage-time corner kick, and Mexico salvaged a 2-2 draw vs. the reigning European champions in Kazan.

Portugal had gone ahead minutes earlier through Cedric, whose deflected shot beat Guillermo Ochoa moments after the goalkeeper had made a sensational stop to deny a go-ahead goal.

Portugal had opened the scoring through Ricardo Quaresma, who finished off an assist from Cristiano Ronaldo in the 34th minute.

Minutes before halftime, though, Javier "Chicharito" Hernandez tied the game with his fourth Confederations Cup goal and his 48th all-time goal for Mexico, padding his international lead.

Cedric then put Portugal ahead after a cutback cross from Liverpool target Gelson Martins, only for Mexico's pressure to pay off late, with Moreno heading home the equalizer despite a hand being in his face as he leaped to nod in the ball.

Mexico and Portugal will each take the point into their next games, against New Zealand and host Russia, respectively.
