Wilshere has had a career plagued by injuries, which has obviously had a detrimental effect upon his development as a player.

However, despite having a fruitful loan-spell at Bournemouth last season, the campaign still ended with the Englishman sustaining a broken leg towards the tail-end of the season.

The Daily Star report that Wilshere has around 12 months left on his contract and the Gunners are likely to want to sell the player instead of letting him leave on the Bosman ruling.

A variety of clubs appear to be interested in the Englishman, with Crystal Palace and Serie A side Sampdoria reportedly ready to make a move for the midfielder.

Veteran Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger has stated that he has no plans to include Wilshere within his Arsenal team next season, as he aims to rejuvenate the squad by making additions such as Alexandre Lacazette.

Due to his recent injury, Wilshere has not travelled with the Arsenal squad in there pre-season tour of Sydney, Shanghai and Beijing.

In addition to this, Wilshere is likely to miss the entirety of Arsenal’s pre-season and also the beginning of the Premier League season. Due to this it will make it difficult for the Englishman to fight for his place at the Emirates.
