Aston Villa's French left back Jordan Amavi has caught the eye of several European teams including one Premier League contender.

Following a failed medical that could've seen the player join Sevilla for a reported £8m, Liverpool have sparked an interest in Jordan Amavi, Birmingham Mail reports.

Villa are reportedly furious at Sevilla's claims and the way the deal broke down following the failed medical on the 14th July.

Two days after the medical, the French left-back played a full match for Aston Villa in their pre-season friendly against Telford United.

With the deal broken down, Liverpool are looking to potentially add Jordan Amavi among their ranks in order to replace James Milner at left-back, as well as provide a secure player for the position should Moreno depart from Merseyside.

The Reds are ready to take Amavi following a one-year loan spell with an option to buy at the end of next year's Premier League campaign.

Reports suggest that Liverpool are ready to test whether Amavi's knee has truly recovered following a ruptured anterior cruciate ligament he suffered back in November 2015.

Jordan Amavi himself favours the move to Liverpool as it means that he will be able to get Champions League football despite the failed transfer to Sevilla.
