Newcastle United manager Rafael Benitez is supposedly conducting talks with Chelsea striker Tammy Abraham about bringing the youngster to St. James' Park on loan next season.

According to the Sun, the Spaniard is willing to pay the Blues a rental fee to increase his chances of signing him, as well as cover his £25k-per-week wages.

The 19-year-old is hot property at the moment, after plundering 26 goals in the Championship for Bristol City last season, and is highly likely to be allowed to leave the London club on a temporary basis this summer, with Chelsea touted to swoop for Romelu Lukaku.

Unlike Antonio Conte, Benitez feels Abraham is ready for the Premier League, and wants to give him a chance to shine, as well as give his side some extra firepower.

Benitez may feel he stands a fair chance at signing Abraham, having managed Chelsea previously in 2012/2013 after taking over from Roberto Di Matteo on an interim basis.

Having joined to a hostile reception, the former Liverpool manager left the club on good terms  after guiding them to victory in the Europa League and a third place finish in the Premier League.

The Magpies faithful will be hoping to see some smart business this summer, and avoid relegation back down to the Championship.
