Crystal Palace boss Frank de Boer made his frustrations with 21-year-old Marko Grujić clear following his side's 2-0 defeat to Liverpool on Wednesday, after an ugly tackle on Eagles star Wilfried Zaha when the two sides met in pre-season.

The game was settled thanks to goals from new man Dominic Solanke and Belgium international Divock Origi, however, the main talking point after the game was Grujić's tackle on de Boer's Ivorian winger.

"I think he's OK, but it was not a very nice thing to do on him, it was on purpose," de Boer said, reported by the Croydon Advertiser. "Luckily enough for us, he can continue, but that's not the way you want to play a friendly game, and also in Premier League games, you don't want to see him injured."

Ruben Loftus-Cheek joined de Boer's side on a season long loan from Premier League champions Chelsea and the with the imminent arrival of Ajax star Jaïro Riedewald, Palace will likely remain active in the transfer market having made just the two signings so far.
