Napoli president Aurelio de Laurentiis is very keen on signing Fiorentina starlet Federico Chiesa this summer, but may find it tough to persuade their Serie A rivals to sell.

La Viola have already let Borja Valero join Inter Milan and with key men, Nikola Kalinic and Federico Bernardeschi both rumoured to be close to leaving, the club simply does not want to let another first-team player go.

According to Calcio Mercato, Fiorentina would accept nothing less than €40m for the 19-year-old which should see the Neapolitan club halt their pursuit for this year.

Chiesa was one of La Viola's brightest sparks in an otherwise dismal 2016/17 campaign. The teenage prospect made 27 appearances in the league, starting 17 and managed to score three times and assisted two more.

Should the likes of Kalinic and Bernardeschi leave this summer, the Italy U21 international would probably be better off remaining in Florence in order to get the necessary game time.

Napoli's front three of Dries Mertens, Lorenzo Insigne and Jose Callejon would likely not be broken up by some of the world's finest, so Chiesa would probably be limited to sporadic appearances in cup competitions.
