Eric Bailly has taken to Instagram to troll Zlatan Ibrahimovic ahead of his expected return to Manchester United.

ESPN have reported that the enigmatic Swedish forward could sign a new contract with the club this week.

Ibrahimovic recovered from a knee ligament injury at the club's AON Training Centre, despite seeing his contract expire in June.

And now that he looks set for a sooner than expected comeback, United defender Bailly has wasted little time in reminding him of what he can expect on his return.

The Ivorian defender posted a video to Instagram in which he aims a kick at the striker, before scarpering at the prospect of an angered Ibrahimovic.

"Hope you're almost ready to return, @iamzlatanibrahimovic," Bailly wrote in the caption. "I'll be right here!"

United have so far coped well without last season's top scorer, beginning their Premier League campaign with two 4-0 wins against West Ham and Swansea.

But manager Jose Mourinho confirmed earlier this month that the club were hopeful Ibrahimovic would extend his stay after an impressive first year.

"We are discussing the possibility of him to stay with us," the Portuguese coach said. "It was very clear from him that what he did last year was not enough for him.

"He wants more football at the highest level so we are having conversations and discussing the possibility of him staying for the second part of the season.

"He is injured, he needs time to recover, and is not ready to play tomorrow. It's not something that's urgent, it's not desperate to have it done or not."
