Pogba Dedicates Victory to Rescued Thai Football Team After World Cup Semi Final Win Over Belgium

Paul Pogba has dedicated France's World Cup semi-final victory over Belgium to the Thai football team, who were recently rescued from a flooded underground cave for over two weeks.

After entering the cave system, heavy rain struck the area and flooded the cave, meaning the team were unable to leave. Upon learning of their rescue, many players were quick to offer their support to the young team, including Pogba.

The Manchester United midfielder, soon after the 1-0 victory over Belgium, took to Twitter to offer his support to the group, writing: "This victory goes to the heroes of the day, well done boys, you are so strong."

Manchester United also offered their support to the young footballers on Twitter, offering to bring the team to Old Trafford for a match during the upcoming season. The club wrote: "MUFC is relieved to learn that the 12 footballers and their coach trapped in a cave in Thailand are now safe. Our thoughts and prayers are with those affected.

"We would love to welcome the team from Wild Boars Football Club and their rescuers to Old Trafford this coming season."

The clash between Belgium and France had been highly anticipated, with the two nations both among the favourites to win the entire tournament. In the end, France ran out 1-0 winners after defender Samuel Umtiti headed past Thibaut Courtois in what proved to be the decisive moment in the match.

Their victory has earned them a place in the World Cup final to face either England or Croatia, who face off in the second semi-final tie this evening.

Many French players wrote of their excitement on social media, and the Twitter account for the French national team also wrote: "We are in the final!!!!!"
