Messier is the only player to captain two franchises (Oilers and Rangers) to Stanley Cup victories; his jersey is retired in both cities. He ranks second on the all-time regular season scoring list (1,887 points).

Norm Van Brocklin

"The Dutchman" was the 1960 NFL MVP and helped the Eagles win an NFL Championship in the same year. Van Brocklin won passing titles in 1950 and 1952 and was named to nine Pro Bowls.

Isiah Thomas

Barry Larkin

The shortstop was a pivotal part of the Cincinnati Reds 1990 World Series team and won the 1995 NL MVP award. He was also 12-time All-Star, nine-time Silver Slugger and three-time Gold Glove winner.

Phil Simms

Simms had one of the finest performances in Super Bowl history, completing 22 of his 25 pass attempts (88%) to help the Giants to a 39-20 victory over the Broncos. The two-time Pro Bowl QB was the MVP of Super Bowl XXI.

Bob McAdoo

McAdoo, the 1975 NBA MVP, was also a two-time NBA champion, three-time scoring champion and five-time All-Star. He is also one of the best U.S. players ever to play basketball in Europe.

Edgar Martinez

Martinez spent his entire career with the Seattle Mariners, where he was a seven-time All-Star and five-time Silver Slugger. He also won AL batting titles in 1992 and 1995.

Gilbert Perreault

The center of Buffalo's French Connection line leads the Sabres franchise in goals, assists, points and games played. Perreault was also a nine-time NHL All-Star.

Drew Bledsoe

Bledsoe played for the Patriots, Bills and Cowboys during his 14-year NFL career. The No. 1 overall draft pick was a four-time Pro Bowl pick.

Elvin Hayes

The former top overall pick went on to become a 12-time NBA All-Star with the Rockets and Bullets. He won an NBA Championship in 1978.

Carl Hubbell

The New York Giants' pitcher famous for his screwball was a nine-time All-Star, two-time NL MVP and 1933 World Series champion.
