What Happened?

• Nadal keeps rolling. Top-seeded Rafael Nadal rolled to a 6-2, 6-1, 6-1 victory over American qualifier Ryan Sweeting. The 24-year-old Spaniard has dropped just four games through two rounds at Melbourne Park. (Watch the highlights here.)

• Highest seed eliminated. No. 7-seeded Jelena Jankovic became the highest-seeded player to be sent home thus far, bowing quietly to China's Peng Shuai in straight sets. It marked the Serb's seventh loss in eight matches. (Watch match point here.)

• Delpo goes down. Playing in his first Grand Slam tournament since a wrist injury sidelined him for most of 2010, Juan Martin del Potro lost 6-1, 6-3, 4-6, 6-3 to Marcos Baghdatis in Thursday's nightcap. "He's not played many matches and that put a bit of pressure on me, because I was, a bit, the favorite," Baghdatis said afterward.

• Other top seeds coast. No. 4 Robin Soderling and No. 5 Andy Murray joined Nadal in the third round, with No. 2 Vera Zvonareva, No. 3 Kim Clijsters and No. 5 Sam Stosur advancing on the women's side.
