U.S. Open Day 7 matches to watch

Feliciano Lopez vs. Andy Murray (first night match, Ashe): Which Murray will show up? Sabine Lisicki vs. Vera Zvonareva (second night match, Ashe): Lisicki's game is better than her ranking at the moment (No. 18 in the world), and if not for Serena Williams, the German, seeded 22nd, would be the one tagged as the player most likely to ruin a top seed's week. The two clashed earlier this summer in San Diego, with Zvonareva winning a gruelling three-setter. I expect another physical match contrasting Boom Boom's power vs. Vera's experience.

Juan Martin del Potro vs. Gilles Simon (second match, Armstrong): Pure power vs. pure counterpunching. Their games can match up perfectly. Watching DelPo fire away while Simon scrambles should make for a highly entertaining match. Don't be surprised if this one goes five sets, with both men struggling to stay on their feet.
