The Daily Bagel is your dose of the interesting reporting, writing and quipping from around the Internet.

• Video: Looking back on a classic moment at the French Open, when Marat Safin decided to celebrate his deft touch by pulling his shorts down. There is not a day that goes by that tennis doesn't miss that guy.

• Andy Murray's back scan seems to have revealed a nerve injury, leaving his readiness for the AEGON Championships at Queen's Club in doubt.

The injury is understood to affect a nerve which sends pain shooting down his leg, which is why he can often be seen clutching at his hip, particularly after playing a high ball on his backhand side.

• There are conflicting reports as to whether John Tomic will be allowed into Roland Garros as a paying spectator. The Australianreports he will be let in if he buys a ticket, while Christopher Clarey of The New York Times and The Associated Press report he will not.

• Venus Wililams says she's not playing just for herself anymore.

• Fantastic video from The New York Times on the amount of pressure placed on Rafael Nadal's knees when he hits his backhand.

• Lights are coming to Roland Garros.

• As Simon Cambers reports, Novak Djokovic's belief in destiny helps him deal with the disappointment of last year's French Open, when he seemed to have the momentum against Rafael Nadal in the final before the match was suspended for light.

"I remember that I was talking to a supervisor and I remember I said: 'I want to play.' They made a decision not to play. Why? How? For what reason? I don't know." Back to destiny. "Maybe I could have won if we had continued that day. But at the end of the day it wasn't to be. Maybe this year it's going to be. I still keep believing it is the year for Roland Garros."

• James Blake has joined up with Athlete Ally, making him the third American tennis player to do so alongside Andy Roddick and Mardy Fish.
