Aga Radwanska dropped by Catholic youth group after nude photo shoot

WTA No. 4 Agnieszka Radwanska of Poland has been dropped from a Catholic youth group's campaign after she posed naked for ESPN The Magazine's Body Issue, as reported by the AFP.

Radwanska served as an ambassador for Poland's Krucjata Mlodych and has been featured in television commercials for the group's "I'm not ashamed of Jesus" campaign.

Though the nude photo shoot of the 24-year-old Radwanska's sitting by a pool full of tennis balls reveals nothing explicit, the group deemed it "immoral behavior."

"It's a shame that someone who has declared their love for Jesus is now promoting the mentality of men looking at a woman as a thing rather than a child of God worthy of respect and love," Father Marek Dziewiecki, a senior Catholic priest, told The Telegraph. "If she meets a man who she can truly love and establish a happy family and raise Catholic children, then she would probably have to hide these pictures from relatives."

I spoke to Radwanska last month in Eastbourne, England, about the pressures back home stemming from her status as the face of Polish tennis and one of the most famous Polish athletes in the world. Radwanska hasn't always had it easy in the Polish press, which she attributes to the fact that the country is still learning the sport.

"To be honest, I'm not reading anything," Radwanska said. "I think it's just really healthy for me not to read anything. Of course, it doesn't matter what you do; there's going to be some part of the people who's just going to be negative. It doesn't matter how you're playing or what you do. I think you just have to live with that.
