Andy Roddick, in his new role with Fox Sports 1, interviewed Roger Federer last week during an event celebrating 40 years of the ATP rankings. The two former No. 1s talked about their dramatic 2009 Wimbledon final, which Federer won 5-7, 7-6 (6), 7-6 (5), 3-6, 16-14.

As Roddick recounted his heartbreaking loss, he told Federer that he appreciated his class in the locker room after the trophy ceremony.

"The moment was probably tougher for you than happier for me," Federer said. "I know how hard you tried and how difficult it must be because unfortunately you can't have it all."

Roddick, always quick with a quip, jumped right in.

"Well, you can," Roddick said. "You selfish bastard."

Roddick also asked Federer about his proudest moments (winning Wimbledon for the first time, in 2003, and becoming No. 1 for the first time, in 2004), the biggest influence on his career (his late coach Peter Carter) and the challenge of aging as an athlete.
