After experiencing "severe pain" in his left wrist during the Australian Open, Juan Martin del Potro is receiving treatment at the Mayo Clinic in Rochester, Minn.

Del Potro's spokesperson confirmed that he received injections and treatment, and played pain-free during his title run at the Sydney International, but the pain got worse in Melbourne, where he lost in the second round to Roberto Bautista Agut. The 2009 U.S. Open champion returned to Argentina to rest, but then decided to fly to Minnesota to consult with Dr. Richard Berger, who operated on his right wrist in 2010.
