ATP rankings: Marin Cilic on the rise

Marin Cilic made the biggest move among top players in this week's ATP rankings, rising from No. 37 to No. 29 after another strong tournament.

The 25-year-old made the final of the ABN AMRO World Tennis Tournament, one week after winning the Zagreb Indoors. Cilic, a top-20 mainstay who peaked at No. 9 four years ago, slipped as low as No. 47 last year after serving a four-month doping ban.

In other rankings news:

• New No. 4 David Ferrer and No. 5 Juan Martin del Potro switched spots after Ferrer won the Copa Claro and Del Potro lost to Ernests Gulbis in the quarterfinals of the ABN AMRO World Tennis Tournament.

• New No. 6 Tomas Berdych and No. 7 Andy Murray switched spots after Berdych won the ABN AMRO World Tennis Tournament and Murray lost to Cilic in the quarterfinals. This is Murray's lowest ranking since he was ninth in July 2008.

• Igor Sijsling hit a career high of No. 52 after making the semifinals as a wild card at his home tournament in Rotterdam, the Netherlands, where he lost to Cilic.

• No. 66 Bradley Klahn trails No. 57 Sam Querrey by only 69 points for the title of No. 2 American.

• Julien Benneteau fell 28 spots, to No. 67, after a first-round loss in Rotterdam, where he was a finalist last year. The 32-year-old Frenchman is 3-9 in his last 12 ATP Tour matches, including 2-5 this year. He was ranked as high as No. 26 in April 2012.
