Venus Williams at the U.S. Open

Venus Williams enters the 2014 U.S. Open as the No. 19 seed in the women's draw. She'll open up with a first round match up against Japan's Kimiko Date-Krumm. 

Here is a look back at Williams' past performances at the U.S. Open. 

Last year Williams was knocked out in the second round. It marked the third consecutive year that she'd lost that early.

Williams has won the U.S. Open twice, in 2000 and 2001. She also twice won doubles titles, in 1999 and 2009, when partnered with her sister, Serena.

Two separate times, in 1997 to Martina Hingis and 2002 to Serena, she was the runner-up of the tournament. 

2001 marked the first time that sisters matched up against each other in the U.S. Open finals. They'd meet again a year later. 

Williams has appeared in 15 U.S. Opens, going 63-13 in her matches. 

For her career, Williams is 645-176 and has earned just south of $30 million.

Williams hasn't won a singles Grand Slam title since 2008 at Wimbledon. She hasn't reached the quarterfinals since 2010. 

She has yet to advance past the third round in a Grand Slam this season.
