Former tennis star Bob Hewitt has been expelled from the International Tennis Hall of Fame, it was announced Wednesday.
Hewitt was convicted of rape and indecent assault on women he coached in the 1980s and 90s back in March. He’s currently appealing a six-year prison sentence.
He was inducted into the Hall of Fame in 1992 for a career that included nine Grand Slam doubles titles. Twenty years later, in 2012, he was indefinitely suspended when the allegations arose.
