Walsh Jennings and Ross win in Atlanta City

ATLANTIC CITY, N.J. (AP) Kerri Walsh Jennings and April Ross won the DO AC Pro Beach Volleyball Invitational on Sunday for their sixth consecutive AVP Tour title.

Walsh Jennings and Ross beat Emily Day and Summer Ross 21-19, 21-12 in the title match to run their season match record to 31-0. The victory ran Walsh Jennings' female tournament victory record to 133.

''We're exactly where we should be right now,'' Walsh Jennings said. ''Ideally, we want to be perfect, but we understand the process. We're going to be really good, but it will take some time for us to get there.''

In the men's final, Jake Gibb and Casey Patterson beat Ryan Doherty and Nick Lucena 21-15, 21-14 for their third victory of the season. They also won the event last year.

''We put everything we have into this,'' Gibb said.
