LAUSANNE, Switzerland (AP) International wrestling will soon be sporting a new look.

United World Wrestling, the sport's governing body, announced Friday that its yellow and red mats - which were originally adopted for the 1972 Munich Games - will be replaced with dark blue and orange mats.

The UWW says that wrestling uniforms, which typically come in red and blue, will now come in a variety of colors and be aimed at a younger audience.

Referees will ditch their suits and ties for polo shirts and trousers.

It's all part of an overall effort to improve the sport's presentation, and the final designs for the new uniforms are expected to be approved later this year.

UWW also says it has provisionally recognized Kosovo's national federation, bringing the body's membership to 179 nations.
