WNBA players' union seeks director of operations

NEW YORK (AP) The WNBA players' union is looking for a new director of operations.

Women's National Basketball Players Association spokesman Dan Wasserman said Friday that Pam Wheeler is leaving at the end of the month after 16 years as director of operations. Wheeler oversaw management of union operations and worked on WNBA collective bargaining agreements in 1999, 2003, 2008 and 2014.

The league and players signed an eight-year CBA this year, with an opt-out after six years.

NBPA executive director Michele Roberts took over this summer and will oversee the NBA and WNBA players' unions.
