WWE Friday Night SmackDown Results: Final Stop Before WrestleMania 40

Who will make their final push for momentum on the go-home episode of WWE SmackDown prior to WrestleMania 40?

We are just one sleep away from WrestleMania Saturday, but first there's the go-home episode of WWE SmackDown to get to.

Tonight's edition of the blue brand will feature a WrestleMania weekend tradition, as the Andre the Giant Memorial Battle Royal will be taking place inside the Wells Fargo Center in Philadelphia PA. There will also be some matches that will be contested for momentum going into the WrestleMania two-night special.

MMA Knockout will be on the scene inside the Wells Fargo Center, and we'll be bringing you live results and video from the arena.

Along with the battle royal will be a singles match between Solo Sikoa of The Bloodline and Jey Uso. Sikoa has been given direct orders from Roman Reigns to take Jey out before his WrestleMania 40 match against Jimmy Uso. Can the big man get the job done?

Plus, will momentum be on the side of New Catch Republic or A-Town Down Under ahead of "The Greatest Spectacle in Sports Entertainment?" We're about to find out as the two teams will collide before entering the 6-Pack Ladder Match for the Undisputed WWE Tag Team Championship on Saturday.

Who else is in action? None other than Zelina Vega of the LWO and Elektra Lopez of Legado Del Fantasma. The faction war continues when the ladies go toe-to-toe.

There will also be a special edition of "The KO Show." Randy Orton will serve as the special guest. Owens and Orton have teased getting physical before their triple threat match with champion Logan Paul on WrestleMania Sunday. Will these two finally implode?

WWE SmackDown Results (April 5, 2024)

Tonight's episode of SmackDown begins with the KO Show. Orton appeared as a guest on the show. Owens asked Orton how dislikable does he find Logan Paul on a scale of 1-10. Orton disagreed on the 10-scale and said it was an 11.

Logan appeared on the screen in front of the WrestleMania XL set. He said Orton and Owens are playing in a sandbox, and he told the Philly crowd to shut up. Logan dared Owens and Orton to follow him across the street to Lincoln Financial Field. Owens and Orton obliged, but they were followed by Austin Theory and Grayson Waller.

Orton and Owens rode outside in a golf cart to Lincoln Financial Field, and were being chased by Theory and Waller.

Andre the Giant Memorial Battle Royal

Pretty Deadly were the first to go in a matter of seconds. Others followed rather quickly.

Omos went to eliminate The Creed Brothers, but they all went tumbling to the outside for a triple elimination. Omos attacked The Creed Brothers on the outside.

Ivar and Bronson Reed both collided with a crossbody. Ricochet was eliminated by JD McDonagh, but Tozawa kicked him over the top rope.

Ivar eliminated Otis and Tozawa. When Ivar threw Tozawa out of the ring, Tozawa went flying over Otis, causing a hard spill on the outside.

Down to Reed and Ivar, and the latter went for a moonsault but missed. Reed clotheslined Ivar over the top rope for the victory.

Winner: Bronson Reed

A vignette for The Final Testament aired.

Logan Paul has crossed the street and is in the ring.

Owens and Orton outsmarted Paul, and they returned to the Wells Fargo Center while Waller and Theory were in Lincoln Financial Field. Paul was attacked by his WrestleMania 40 opponents. Owens hit a Stunner on Logan. Fans in Philly wanted an RKO, and they got one, as Paul was planted once again.

Backstage, Dragon Lee was down and hurt. It makes you wonder what his WrestleMania status will be.

Zelina Vega vs. Elektra Lopez

Lopez went up the turnbuckle, but Vega hit a 619 to her knees to cut her off. Dom distracted the referee and ate a slap from Zelina. Rey pulled Dom off the apron. Lopez dropped Zelina for the win.

Winner: Elektra Lopez

After the match, Legado Del Fantasma beat down Rey. Andrade had seen enough and took out Dom and Santos.

Jade Cargill, Bianca Belair, and Naomi were shown backstage, and they are ready to head to the ring after the commercial break.

Bianca and Naomi made their way out. They introduced Jade. Cargill warned that Damage CTRL is now in the "eye of the storm."

Backstage, Jey Uso said he's ready to give Solo Sikoa a "Yeetdown."

New Catch Republic vs. Austin Theory and Grayson Waller

Tyler Bate lifted Waller up for a stalling vertical suplex. Pete Dunne was tagged in and utilized his signature joint manipulation, but Theory hit a roll through dropkick. Bate ran into a knee from Waller. New Catch Republic hit Burning-Hammer for the win.

Winners: New Catch Republic

After the match, The Judgment Day laid out Dunne, Bate, Theory, and Waller.

A hype video for Bayley vs. IYO SKY played.

LA Knight made his way out to a huge ovation. Knight said Styles won't be able to run away at WrestleMania 40. Fans were hanging onto every word LA Knight was saying ... yeah.

A promo video for Bobby Lashley and The Street Profits vs. The Final Testament played.

Jey Uso vs. Solo Sikoa

Jey went for a dive to the outside, but Solo cut him off with an uppercut. He then slammed Jey onto the ring apron. Solo planted Jey with a belly-to-belly suplex for a two-count. The momentum swung in Jey's favor, who kicked Solo in the midsection and landed a running hip attack for a near fall.

Jimmy Uso interfered and attacked Jey, causing the DQ finish.

Winner: Jey Uso

As Solo was ready to Spike Jey Uso, Cody Rhodes and Seth Rollins made their way out. Rhodes hit the Cody Cutter on Solo. He then pulled out his belt and started whipping Jimmy and Solo.

Cody hit Cross Rhodes on Jimmy. Seth then got his hits in on Jimmy with the belt. Jey splashed Jimmy from the top rope.

Rhodes grabbed a mic promised to "shatter the foundation of The Bloodline." He promised to dethrone Roman Reigns on WrestleMania Sunday. He ended SmackDown by saying when one story ends, an even better one begins.
