WWE News: Contract Status of Former World Champion After WrestleMania 40

Much speculation has been made on the contract status of this WWE superstar after WrestleMania 40.

A big update on a former WWE world champion's contract has surfaced.

WWE is coming off a massive two-night event, which was none other than WrestleMania 40. There were plenty of title changes and significant moments during the biggest wrestling show of the year. Going into "The Showcase of the Immortals" many fans speculated on the future of one top WWE superstar.

The question remains, will this popular heel talent re-sign with WWE or go elsewhere?

Fightful reports that Drew McIntyre hasn't signed a new deal with WWE following WrestleMania 40. McIntyrre hasn't disappeared from WWE after a roller coaster night at WrestleMania. McIntyre appeared on the April 8th episode of Monday Night Raw. He fell short in a fatal four-way match for a shot at the World Heavyweight Championship.

McIntyre defeated Seth Rollins for the World Heavyweight Championship at WrestleMania 40 Sunday. Just minutes later, he lost the title after Damian Priest successfully cashed in his Money in the Bank briefcase. Priest had some help from CM Punk, who attacked McIntyre prior to the cash-in after being provoked.

Many expect McIntyre to eventually sign a new contract with WWE. After all, the company continues to have "The Scottish Warrior" feud with CM Punk despite Punk's injury. It'll be interesting to see where this rivalry goes and when Punk will be medically cleared to compete.
