The May 2 fight between Floyd Mayweather and Manny Pacquiao generated a record 4.4 million pay-per-view buys, SI.com's Chris Mannix reports.

Mayweather defeated Pacquiao by unanimous decision in a fight billed "The Fight of the Century." The fight cost $89 in standard definition and $99 in high definition, meaning it generated over $400 million in television revenue alone, which makes the bout the richest in boxing history.

Tuesday morning, ESPN's Dan Rafael reported that the bout had generated a record $72,198,500 in ticket revenue.
