Class of 2015 guard Perry "P.J." Dozier committed to South Carolina on Wednesday, choosing the Gamecocks over Michigan, North Carolina, Georgetown and Louisville, ESPN's Jeff Borzello reports.

Dozier, a 6-foot-6 guard from Spring Valley High in Columbia, S.C., is regarded as a consensus top-50 recruit nationally. While playing point guard at the high school level, Dozier is considered a "combo guard" prospect, and his addition provides South Carolina with their highest-rated recruiting class in recent memory.

Dozier said he chose South Carolina based on his comfort at the school, Borzello reports.

"South Carolina wouldn't be in the mix if I didn't feel like they had the players and coaches to [turn it around]," Dozier said. "I'm definitely excited to play along with them and get this going.

"It was just a feel. All the coaches did a great job recruiting, no one really better than the other. In the end, it just came down to how I felt."
