Bill Walton is really enjoying Grateful Dead's farewell tour

Bill Walton, one of the Grateful Dead's biggest fans, is documenting his journey as he attends their farewell tour.

You'd be hard-pressed to find a bigger Grateful Dead fan than Bill Walton.

The former NBA player and current broadcaster recently told the San Diego Union-Tribune that he's been to a staggering 854 Grateful Dead shows in his life, and he's going to up that number to 859 before the band says goodbye.

Over the weekend, Grateful Dead played the first two shows on its ‘Fare Thee Well’ tour, and of course Walton was on hand at Levi's Stadium in California. The band will play a final three shows at Soldier Field in Chicago this weekend, and Walton told the Union-Tribune he'll be there at all of them.
