Look at these Tour de France fans playing chess on a mountain top

Mountaintop chess is just one of the ways Tour de France fans spend their time waiting for the peloton.

The Tour de Fance entered the first of its arduous mountain stages on Wednesday as the riders head to the ski resort town of Le Lorian in the Massif Central region of France.

The mountain roads can make it more difficult for cycling fans to find a spot to watch the competitors ride by but two fans found a nice cozy mountain peak to watch the action and enjoy a leisurely game of chess at this year’s event.

This feels like a good way to add some physical excitement to the mental battle of chess while also getting to watch the world’s premier cycling event. We just hop their chess battle is not marred by allegations of doping.
