Five daily fantasy sports companies, including DraftKings and FanDuel, may resume operations in New York, the state’s gaming commission announced on Monday.

The announcement comes two weeks after governor Andrew Cuomo signed a bill legalizing DFS on Aug. 3. Monday’s announcement gives companies which were active prior to Nov. 10, 2015 permission to resume operations.

The industry was forced to suspend its business in the state after attorney general Eric Schneiderman found the games to be too similar to illegal gambling.

The companies will be operating on a temporary permit, and will continue working on long-term regulations with the state.
